Casual Friday 76: Kraft On

I couldn't help playing along with the CAS-ual Friday girls for this week challenge.

CFC76: Create a Clean And Simple project using Kraft
It can be a card, tag, layout, etc., as long as it's CAS

So here is the card I created

I got the Paper Smooches stamp set Turkey Jive and I really loved the feather in the set. I wanted to try stamping the back of the stamp then the front over it.  I am very pleased how it turned out.

Modern Thank you

Today I have a very modern card to share. This card came together very fast and I actually made a set of four, one can never have too many thank you cards. I used Papertrey Ink's background basics : Vines and stamped the image in five colors then cut it into four stripes. Fast and easy, my favorite kind of project.

A Lace Bouquet Thank you

Today I have a quick share.  Here is a card I made that was inspired by Debbie Olson's beautiful card here.  I love so many of her cards and have recreated many for my self. This card started out as a complete recreate of the original and just as I finished all the pieces I ended up with brown ink on the top right of the card.  So instead of scraping this and starting over I ran the ribbon down the right side to hide it and stamped the sentiment on the bottom left.

Larkspur Thank you

Today I have a card to share that I made while I was at Craftaway Studios. This stamp set is actually a set that is part of the amazing stash that I got to play with while I was there. I was so happy to see Patertrey Ink stamps and inks as part of the stash.  I have been wanting to play with some of the year of flower stamps so I took the opportunity. I decided to color the flower using my using color pencils, mostly because it was quick and I started working on this card at 6 am and still a bit tired from staying up way to late the night before. In my opinion pencils are a bit more forgiving.

A Teacher Thank you

With the end of the school year come and gone I know this is late but I thought I would share what we gave to Z's teacher this year.  This actually isn't a part of the card set we gave since I didn't even snap a photo of it before we had to gift it. (Bad blogger I know) But I had enough paper scraps to re creat a few of the cards.  I just love the October afternoon school paper.  Oh and this card set was inspired but this wonderful stamper and this card set.

Song Bird Thank you

Now that the temperatures are getting warmer here I wasn't really in a mood to make a Christmas card over the weekend. But not to worry, I was inspired to create. So I do have some cards to share this week. This first one I am really pleased with since pieces of it have been sitting on my desk for a couple of months. I could not figure out how to finish it off. It started out life as a weeding card but has ended up as a springy thank you card.

Here is a close up of the sweet little bird.

One layer Wednesday: Many Thanks

Even though last weekend was a busy weekend filled with birthday celebrations for my youngest son I was able to do a quick little one layer thank you card set.  I recently purchased Papertrey Ink's  Take Three: Summer stamp set and wanted to crack it open.  I think the flowers are so pretty and I couldn't help but ink up one of the birds from the set.

To make sure that the images were lined up as I stamped down the side of the card I used two long post its which made stamping the three cards super fast and easy.

Here is a close up of all three cards.

And lastly the little bird.

Colorful Thank you

Hello, everybody.  I'm so happy it is almost the weekend. Today I have a Thank you card that was inspired by this beautiful card that Betsy Veldman did.  I concentrated on red, orange and yellow and went with an Andy Warhol type of feel making all of the flowers including stem the same color. Who says flowers can't have red stems?

Thanks a hoot

Today I have a thank you card I made using the cute owl from Clear and Simple Stamps Taglines: Critters stamp set.  After making the Class Valentines I just couldn't put this set away. And I just happen to have the American Crafts Campy Trails paper that would pair up nicely. It is hard to tell from the pictures but the brown strip on top I used the PTI Wood grain impression plate.

Here is a close up of the sweet little owl.

Thank you Dahlia

Today I have a thank you card I made using PTI Delightful Dahlia.  When this set first came out I fell in love with it. Although I have made a few cards using this set I find it difficult to use. I have seen this technique on Nichole Heady's blog ( I can't find the post to link back to) and thought I would give it a try.

This technique is super fast and easy. All you do is stick the flower stamp backwards on the block and ink it with color. Then go back and stamped the flower image on top of it of the circles. I am really pleased with how it turned out. I think I want to do this again but with bright colors.  I think you will be seeing a set of these babies soon.

Penguin Christmas Thank you

Now that Christmas has come and gone it was time to send out the Thank you cards.  While surfing the Papertrey Ink Forum I came across a link to this adorable thank you card that Joyce made for her daughter's thank you cards. Since Mr. Sunny gave me that sweet little Winter Penguin for Christmas I couldn't wait to create a set of thank you cards for my boy to send out.

Teacher Thank you

I was so happy I was able to fit in some crafting time this weekend. During the week I had some ideas floating around in my head using the PTI Teacher's Apple set. But as I sat down to do them it kind of evolved. It seems it always happens that way. And lately I have been loving white space on my cards.

Here is an up close look at the details.
