You know how Pablo Picasso had a blue period where all of his paintings were done in shades of blue, and then he had a rose period then cubism. Well, I had what I would like to refer to as a "Mat Stack 5 period". You see it started out innocently enough with this cupcake birthday card.
I loved how it turned out, I proudly showed Mr. Sunny and basically stood there and waited for him to tell me how great my creation was. I even ask my 6 year old son what he thought of it, his response was that it was "pretty" (he really is such a sweet little boy).
Then the next card I made was this.
Then the next card I made was this.
Again I followed the same basic design, Mat stack 5- check, image in the center- check, sentiment across the image- check, limitless layers die- check. I added a bit of detail across the center and some twine this time which made it look completely different, yes?
For the next card I decided I would change things up a bit more.
See doesn't it look completely different from the first too, maybe you can't quite put your finger on what exactly what is different- it's the oval and the image is off to the side. I'm tricky. I even tried to do the whole "create a pattern paper by stamp a single image in different color", oh where have I done this before.
Well, there you have it, my "Mat stack 5 period". After lining them all up to take pictures I wasn't buying what I was selling, they all looked the same. So I have decided to step away from the Mat stack 5 die for a bit of time. I'm going to try to create cards without it.
they all look pretty great to me but i must say that i really love the colours and 'theme' of the cupcake card.
