Pimped my Macy's Bag

This weekend Mr. Sunny and I attended a wedding.  I was quite excited to go since it was the first wedding we have attend in our new (it's been five years now) hometown. And the reception was in the really cool downtown area but ultra swanky building. But more importantly I would need to make a wedding card.  As you can tell I haven't needed a wedding card for quite some time from my previous statement. But when I saw this card that Betsy Veldman made for the December PTI release I had to have this set and recreate that card.  And the best part was I would be able to use the card!!!

So earlier in the week I stopped in at Macy's to pick up a gift from their registry and at the end of the purchase the lady offered me a gift bag for FREE.  I, of course, jumped on the offer but was a bit let down when she handed a regular shopping bag to me but instead of it being red it was silver (since it was a wedding gift bag). Oh well, I decided to work with it since it was FREE. So this is when the thought crossed my mind that I would need more than a card to "pimp out this shopping bag". I decided I would make a tag too. But instead of working on it during the week I waited to make the card/tag the same day as the wedding and I still needed to run out and buy new panty hose, take a shower and figure out how to look swanky with my "shopping bag" which require a quick run to Hobby Lobby for some flowers (since that is not something I have being a mom of boys but now I have a bunch due to the fact that the only package I could find in the size/color I needed had 80 flowers) and pearls. So time was short but this is what the gift looked like as we were heading out to the wedding.

Here are some close ups of the card and tag (front and back)

Make it monday #3

Today I was able to make a card to participate in Papertrey Inks Make it Mondays Challenge.  The challenge was to use score tape then "glitter it up".  This was quite a challenge for me since Mr. Sunny and the boys are not to much for glitter but I was able to find a bit I got in a class kit for a Melissa Frances card class at the last scrapbook convention I went to. So sitting and trying to think what to do all I could think of was "Christmas is glitter" so getting a jump start on Christmas for next year I have Christmas card to share.

A Girlie Birthday

Since I usually focus on Boy stuff since that is what I am surrounded by I decided to make a girlie birthday card with the Make a Wish set.  Here is what I came up with.  Let me say lining up that bow is a bit tricky on the present.

Make it Monday: the Saturday edition

So I decided to join in on the Make it Monday challenges over at Papertrey ink. However I most likely will be posting them on the weekends. All you have to do is make a project using at least one PTI product and incorporating the challenge and post it to your blog before the following Monday. This week’s challenge was using a vellum stripe.  So For my fist Make it Monday challenge here is what I came up with.

I wanna ride a boat

Hello, sorry it was so quiet around the old blog but we were on a family vacation. The getting ready for it and unpacking has left little time and energy to craft. So now that we are back and all the clean clothes are back in the closet (the same can not be said for the luggage) I should be able to craft a bit this weekend.

But for now here are a few pictures from our vacation and a few tidbits about our trip to the World.

We had fun meeting Pooh and the gang at the Crystal Palace on our first morning at the Magic Kingdom. Z insisted on drawing a picture of the character after they signed their autograph.  He is so into drawing right now. Over the course of the trip we added to the autograph book even getting Darth Vader to sign it.

This was the "I wanna ride a boata" trip. That is all my youngest wanted to do. It all started when Mr Sunny and Z went to ride Soarin'  I took H over to ride the Land.  If you have been there you now there isn't much to this ride and the line was super short, so why not. Since Huddy bear was starting to act like a bear I made a big deal about being on a boat which translates to just saying the word boat as much as possible.  Well, it seem to work he calmed down and started to look around and when we got to the farm part he started pointing out "trees" and "fish".  So later in the day when it was my turn to ride Soarin' with Z, Mr. Sunny stayed outside of the Land building.  As he was watching the people go by he could hear Huddy Bear saying something over and over but could not make it out so he got down to listen and he kept saying "I wanna ride a boata, I wanna ride a boata". And really it continued all week along with "I wanna ride a choo-choo train". So each time we rode on a boat or a ride that had a boat we made a big deal and he was so happy, in fact our last ride of the trip was the boat ride in mexico after our last dinner. But sadly little Huddy bear was asleep but we all chanted "I wanna ride a boat" before we got on anyways.

I will share more pictures soon but these were the few I edited this morning.
So as tigger would say TTFN ( Ta-Ta for now).

Make a Wish

Here is the second card I made over the weekend using PTI's Make a Wish Set.  I tried to make this using superhero colors since the party we attended was for a little boy turning 6 who is into superheros big time.

Happy Birthday

So I think I have found a new favorite Papertrey stamp set. I recently purchased the make a wish set along with the additions and the dies that go with it. We had a birthday to attend over the weekend so I decided to see what I could do with it. Here is one of the cards I came up with. I totally love that this set is gender neutral.
