Mistletoe Monday: Season's Greetings

Happy Monday! Here on Sunny with a Chance of Crafting I do a series called Mistletoe Monday's where I feature Christmas cards and projects. I like to spread out the preparations over the course of the year so that it is not so crazy during the holiday seasons.

Today I have a Christmas card that would be easy for mass production and would mail great.

Here is a close up of the greeting.

Congrats on your new baby, owl?

Today I have a baby card I made using the Clear and Simple Taglines: Little Critters set. Since the tagline set has two size of critters you could make a baby and mama card with any of the critters.  I think I might be doing a set with each in the future. And I think I love the PTI Woodgrain impression plate used on all the colors of the rainbow.

Here is a close up of my little family.

It's Birthday Time

Today I have a birthday card to share. I just love this little critters and had the idea to put party hats on them. After sitting at my desk trying to think of a quick way to make party hats I saw my PTI star die.  I tested out the medium star and trimmed off the ponits to see if the size would be right for party hats and it was.

I colored the little critters using colors pencils. Here is a close up of the "party animals".

One Layer Wednesday: Celebrate

Today I have a One Layer Wednesday birthday card. The colors I chose to use were inspired by a dress. I really like the blue, yellow, pink and brown color combination so I think I will be using it again in the future.

Happy Birthday Mom

Since my Mom loves the color purple I decided it was a wise choice to make her a purple birthday card. After I making the card I realized I didn't have an envelope for it but I remembered that I had a few brown bags. So as Mr. Sunny was packing up the car for our weekend visit I quickly threw together a bag for the card. Here is what the package looked like in the end.

Here is a close up.

For the card I decided to do this card but in three different shades of purple.

Mistletoe Monday: Christmas Bells are ringing

Ok, I must admit I am in love with Papertrey Ink stamps.  I am glued to Nichole Heady's blog from the 5th to the 15th of every month for the countdown to their release. The cards the Papertrey Ink design team creates are amazing. Durning the countdowns there are always a couple of cards that as soon as a get the stamps I want to try and recreate for myself.  I have one today.  When they released Bells and Bough I saw this card (it is the second one in this post) that Maile Belles made, my heart skipped a beat. Now that I finally own this set the first card I wanted to do was that one. Here is my card.

One layer Wednesday: Many Thanks

Even though last weekend was a busy weekend filled with birthday celebrations for my youngest son I was able to do a quick little one layer thank you card set.  I recently purchased Papertrey Ink's  Take Three: Summer stamp set and wanted to crack it open.  I think the flowers are so pretty and I couldn't help but ink up one of the birds from the set.

To make sure that the images were lined up as I stamped down the side of the card I used two long post its which made stamping the three cards super fast and easy.

Here is a close up of all three cards.

And lastly the little bird.

Mistletoe Monday: Will Be back Next week

Hello, I know that you are stopping in here on the Sunny with a Chance of Crafting on Mondays to get a bit of Christmas cheer, but I am sorry to say I don't have anything new today.  We celebrated my youngest son's birthday and had a party so it left little time for crafting.  The time I did have I used to finish valentines for classes and teachers. Apparently I was a few short.  I will be back next week with a bit of Christmas cheer.

Colorful Thank you

Hello, everybody.  I'm so happy it is almost the weekend. Today I have a Thank you card that was inspired by this beautiful card that Betsy Veldman did.  I concentrated on red, orange and yellow and went with an Andy Warhol type of feel making all of the flowers including stem the same color. Who says flowers can't have red stems?

Teacher Valentine's

Today I have the Teacher's Valentine's to share. I wanted to do something a little different then what I did for the kids in the class for the teachers.  So I created these little boxes to put a few chocolates in. I used this box pattern from Papercrafts but I adjusted the measurements to work with the amount of pink cardstock I had left.
(Sorry about the dark pictures I wasn't able to finish these in the daylight hours)

Thanks a hoot

Today I have a thank you card I made using the cute owl from Clear and Simple Stamps Taglines: Critters stamp set.  After making the Class Valentines I just couldn't put this set away. And I just happen to have the American Crafts Campy Trails paper that would pair up nicely. It is hard to tell from the pictures but the brown strip on top I used the PTI Wood grain impression plate.

Here is a close up of the sweet little owl.

CASual Friday 38: On the Red Carpet

I am so excited about this weeks CASual Friday challenge.  The challenge is to make a card inspired by a movie.  When I first saw the PTI stamp set Boy Basic: Out of This World I thought of the movie Toy Story.  We here on the sunny side of the street are some big Buzz Lightyear fans. Here is the card I came up with.

Valentine's Treats Part 2

Today I have the other set of valentine's my youngest son it going to give out at pre-school. (Well I only have a picture of one since it was starting to get dark and I need to have some natural light to take pictures, I'm still working on tying bows on the rest)  Since the number that was needed was much smaller I decided to go with something will a bit more detail. For these treats I used my Silhouette to cut out the pillow box. For the tags I used the Papertrey Ink Limitless Layer die and colored in the image with color pencils.

One Layer Wednesday: Class Valentine's

Oh. my, I am so excited to share today's project with you.  I recently stumbled across the Little Critters set from Clear and Simple Stamps.  It is too cute for words. (Prepare yourself for the over use of the word cute) I decided to use them to make Valentine's for my oldest son's class. I just love this set, lots of options with sentiments with each of the little critters. This project came together pretty quick which is what I needed since there is 22 kids in his class. Using the PTI Half and Half die to cut them out and punching two holes to stick the sucker in took the most of the time.

Here are some close ups of the cute little critters.

Isn't that owl cute.

A purr-fect little kitty.

The bandit racoon.

A bat.

And last but not least a bee.
