Today I'm going to share with you the best crafting weekend I have had to date. My mom and I went to a retreat for the first time to a charming place in Bonham Texas, Craftaway Studios. This place was amazing and well worth the two and a half hour drive from my SW Fort Worth home.
I learned about this gem back in June at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington. What caught my eye about the booth was a picture of a card using some of my favorite stamps, Papertrey ink. So I stopped to see who was the PTI fan and in doing so I met Anna. She then told me the story of how she renovated a turn of the century home and turned it into a crafting retreat. I booked that weekend for my mom and I.
I really didn't know what to except since I had never done a overnight crafting session away for home. When my mom and I got there we were in ah. This place was amazingly renovated, keeping all the vintage charm from the original doors to the skeleton key. Today I going to share pictures of the crafting space, which we had all to our self's since we were the only ones to book that weekend. I am sure that isn't going to be the case for long once word gets out.
Here are some of the goodies she has for you to play with. My mom had the circuit going most of the time.
There was so much ink, ribbon, stamp sets and dies (Papertrey Iink and Stamping Up) to use it was amazing.
I have never seen so many colors of baker's twine before.
There are two rooms of craft tables (11 spaces in total) here is the room that we didn't use.
Here is the room that we took over, let's just say I brought way too much stuff and leave it at that. I know better for next time, and believe me there will be a next time.
Well that's is for now, in my next post I will share the rest of the house.
Wow! The craft space is amazing! You can just use all of the stuff that was there? How awesome! I hope you had a great time with your Mom. I truly enjoy my once a year retreat with my girlfriends. Yes I get some stuff done but more I get to catch up and take a breath from everyday life!
